July 2010
Following a lengthy recruitment process we are delighted to announce that Michael Campbell has been appointed as our first full-time Chaplain. He will take up his post on 1st September, and will be commissioned at a special service on Sunday 5th September (2010).
Michael grew up in Northern Ireland right in the middle of the ‘troubles’. He became a Christian after meeting and marrying his Christian wife and set off for work in Peru on mission with Latin Link followed by working with the Evangelical Church of Peru for 3 years. On returning to England he worked as a carpenter specialising in medieval carpentry and had 3 children before studying at London Bible College (now LST) and graduating with an honours degree in Theology. Michael then worked for Watford New Hope Trust and Bushey Hall School before moving to work full time in 2002 for Carpenters Community Church. Since 2008 Michael has been working (by faith) with the Watford Town Centre Chaplaincy.
