The team
The Chaplaincy operates with a great team of people - 2 paid staff, a team of 20 volunteer chaplains, a Board of Trustees and a number of others who give advice, time and other help on an ad hoc basis.
Michael Campbell
Michael is the Senior Chaplain with responsibility for recruiting, training and placing Chaplains, as well as making relationships with the local busineses. He is married with three grown-up children and was previously Town Centre Chaplain in Watford.
Helen Roche
Helen is the Administrator for the project. She is married with two grown up daughters and has worked with Luton churches for a number of years. She can normally be found in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 08 30 - 13 30.
Volunteer Chaplains
Our Chaplaincy is staffed by local volunteers.
Clive Barrett
Clive is married to Ann and is interested in conservation and the environment. He says, “I am a Lutonian and proud of it!”
Richard Bratt
Richard is married with two daughters. His day job is a scientist working for the Government. He is also a founder member of Luton Street Pastors and has been an active Street Pastor since 2009.
Jean Godden
Jean is married to Martyn and has loved living in Luton for the last 38 years. She taught food technology in several local secondary schools but has now retired and enjoys looking after her small grandson twice a week.
Martyn Godden
Martyn is married to Jean and has lived in Luton for many years. He is an accountant and has been a Street Pastor since 2009.
Marion Gooding
Marion has lived in Luton for 23 years and is married with two daughters. After 20 years as a nurse she has spent the last 12 years working in schools and now works as a Family Worker in a local primary school. She loves reading anything by Michael Morpurgo.
Michael Grainger
Originally from Pimlico in central London, Michael moved to Luton in 2004. He’s married to Kusum from Sri Lanka and looking forward to becoming a grandfather in 2012. Michael likes most sports, and is a lifelong Chelsea supporter.
Heather Linehan
Heather has lived in Luton for 20 years and is currently exploring the possibilities retirement offers.
Rod Mason
Rod has lived in Luton since 1972 and taught at the Sixth Form College. Now retired, he is a Reader at St Francis Church and a Grandfather.
Gill Merrick
Gill was a primary shool teacher in Luton for many years. Now that she has retired she hopes to grow more vegetables and fewer weeds on her allotment.
Dave Page
David was born in Watford (but don’t tell anyone) moving to Dunstable 25 years ago. He is married with three children and one grandaughter. David co-leads Houghton Regis Community Church and is also an avid Northampton Saints Rugby Club fan.
Wendy Peck
Wendy is married with 4 grown up children. She is currently working as the Pastoral Care Co-ordinator at Christchurch, Bushmead.
Chris Rieger
Chris has worked in Luton for many years but is now looking to enjoy his retirement while continuing to serve the local community.
Jessica Rowlands
Jessica is married with 3 children and a dog and has lived in Luton most of her life. She teaches part time at a local primary school and supports her husband in church planting initiatives.
Sam Waterton
Sam in married and has lived in Luton for the past 15 years. She works as a Client Relationship Manager for a consultancy based in Marlow and loves putting a smile on people’s faces.
Carol Wilson
Carol is married and has lived in Luton for many years. She worked as a Financial Adviser for the Halifax in Watford and took early retirement in 2010. Carol is a member of St Hugh’s Church Lewsey and serves on the Parochial Church Council.
Jacky Wilson
I am married to Geoff and have three children and seven grandchildren who are all a great delight to me. I have lived in Luton all of my married life and work part time in a local Community Centre. I have asked the Lord that I would experience/see a new thing about Him or his world every year for the rest of my life - have to say He never disappoints!!!
Our Youth Team
Becky Hotard
Becky grew up in Luton and became a Christian at age 19. She has a huge passion for youth work and mission locally and globally and is a full time youth worker at Stopsley Baptist Church. This involves work in local high schools, youth clubs and taking young people on mission trips. Outside of work she likes making greetings cards, spending time with family and also loves watching films at the cinema.
Ben Neale
Ben has lived in Central London, Hertfordshire, Wales and Switzerland before moving to Harpenden. He has a British father and Swiss mother - hence his avid support for FC Thun from the Swiss football league. He also enjoys fishing.
Clive Latter
As well as being on the Youth Team of the Chaplaincy, Clive is the Youth Worker at Central Baptist Church. He grew up in Kent, spent 6 months in Brazil, and a university placement in Bristol before moving to Luton - where he plans to stay for a while.
Katie Mayhew
Katie currently lives in Luton and is studying psychology at the University of Bedfordshire. She worships at the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, loves music, and is a real ‘outdoors girl’, loving nothing more than riding horses and walking dogs in the countryside.
